About Rupani Foundation
Twenty years of programs, built with the communities they serve.
Rupani Foundation is RDI's non-profit arm, three independently registered entities working across Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the USA. Since 2006, what started as a single early-learning centre has grown into programs spanning early childhood development, education, livelihoods, and community welfare, each shaped by the needs of the community it serves.
Every program we run answers to the people it's built for, not a template applied from elsewhere. That's why our work looks different in Gilgit-Baltistan than it does in Kabul or Houston, even when the underlying belief, that every person deserves the chance to thrive, stays the same
Rupani Foundation exists because a strong start shouldn't depend on where a child is born. Every program we run, from early learning centres to livelihoods training, is built with that belief at the center, and measured by whether it's actually true for the families we serve.
Early Childhood Development
Early Childhood Development is where Rupani Foundation's work began, and it remains the foundation everything else builds on. In 2025 alone, we reached 47,525 children across Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the USA through early learning, maternal mental health support, and community-based care.
A strong first five years shapes everything that follows, so we invest there first: training caregivers, building safe learning spaces, and working alongside families, not just children, because a child's environment is as important as the classroom itself.
Education
Education is how Rupani Foundation turns early opportunity into lasting capability. In 2025, our programs reached 81,790 learners across Pakistan and Afghanistan, from primary schooling to teacher training through our Centre of Excellence.
We've also invested in the people who teach: more than 4,000 teachers and ECD educators have been trained through our programs since 2006, carrying that capacity into classrooms well beyond our own centres.
Economic Inclusion
Skills only change a family's future if they lead somewhere. In Pakistan, over 15,000 people have been trained in employable skills since 2006, from vocational trades to entrepreneurship. In Afghanistan, 108 vocational trainings launched in 2025 alone, reaching communities across 88 villages.
Whether it's a first job, a small business, or a new trade, our economic inclusion programs are built to turn training into independence, not just a certificate.
Humanitarian Support
When a community faces disaster, displacement, or crisis, waiting isn't an option. In 2025, Rupani Foundation reached 2,800 people through disaster response and food security support, work concentrated in Afghanistan, where need is often most urgent and hardest to reach.
Our humanitarian work doesn't stop at the immediate crisis. Alongside emergency support, we invest in natural resource management and resilience-building, so communities are better prepared the next time hardship comes.
